Full Description:

For the last twenty years we have enjoyed the absolute privilige of living in and exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Picos de Europa and the valleys of Liébana on their eastern flank, leading groups of all abilities, sizes, ages, desires and aspirations. This experience and invaluable local knowledge will ensure you get the most out of your holiday with us, whether walking, scrambling, snowshoeing or ski touring.

The extraordinary biodiversity of the Picos de Europa and Cantabrian mountains guarantees we see much more wildlife than human while we're out and about.

Walking Holidays

We offer various levels of walking, from gentle valley walks to scrambling rocky peaks. The maritime mountains and green valleys of the Picos de Europa are wonderful walking country. Picos Rock and Snow offer whole weeks or days of guided walks, away from the well-trodden tracks of other walkers, with an English guide who knows the area like the proverbial back of his hand, allowing you to relax completely, to enjoy the spectacular scenery and your own endorphin rush.

Whether you'd like to bag peaks, scramble, stroll by flower-strewn hay meadows, spend nights out in mountain refuges or take in the whole of the Picos range, we can guide you.

Our walking, scrambling and trekking holidays run from April when the snows dissipate through to November when they return. See our walking holiday pages for more information.

Snowshoeing Holidays

For those wishing to experience the Picos mountains in winter but don't ski we have the answer - a snowshoeing holiday. No experience necessary!

"When most people think of snowshoeing they imagine an unwieldy, tennis racket-like appendage strapped to the foot, possibly with the odd husky or two bounding alongside (or, more likely, miles in front).... " Read more on our snowshoeing pages.

Ski Touring Holidays

For expert ski mountaineers or first-timers bored with the ski lift queues and hordes on the slopes of ski resorts, Picos Rock & Snow offer our speciality - ski touring holidays in the unspoilt Picos de Europa mountains.

"If you've never ventured off-piste before but have been on one or two ski holidays previously, you can enjoy a ski touring holiday with Picos Rock and Snow. A steady snowplough technique will allow you to get around in the mountains once you've mastered  the art of kick-turns - changing direction on the spot by lifting one ski at a time and turning to face the other way. So what's the difference between ski touring and ski mountaineering?"

Find out more including dates, prices, weather forecasts and trip reports on our ski touring pages.
